Was instant36 für den erweiterten österreichischen Raum (und Berlin36 für Professionals) gibt es auch von Apple. Das Insomnia Film Festival startet am 13. Oktober um 9.00 Uhr Eastern Time (also partytaugliche 6 Stunden früher, um 3 Uhr vormittag in Europa) und lässt den TeilnehmerInnen 24 Stunden Zeit, um zumindest eins der vom Veranstalter verlautbarten Elemente wie Dialoge oder Requisiten in ihre 3minütigen Filme einzubauen und hochzuladen. Als Preise winken Äpfel.

bleed ist nun seit einem Jahr online! deshalb gibt es ein wenig Statistik und eine offline-Vorführung. zuerst die Daten: bleed hatte im ersten Jahr durschnittlich 8500 BesucherInnen pro Monat, davon kommt fast jede/r vierte zurück, d.h. 2500 unterschiedliche BesucherInnen. Insgesamt sind das um die 100000 Besuche, 455.71 Gigabytes macht die gesamte geladene Datenmenge aus. 33 Filme sind bis dato online.

Um die Filme ins Kinoereignis zurückzuholen, wird am 22. Oktober um 20Uhr in der KAPU (Linz) ein BestOf-Programm vorgeführt [das auch schon vor zwei Wochen im White Club in Salzburg zu sehen war].

Störung

Aufgrund einer DDOS-Attacke gegen den Server auf dem die Videofiles liegen, sind diese vorraussichtlich bis Montag 28. August 2006, Mittag nicht erreichbar. Wir bitten um Verständnis, können leider selbst nix dagegen machen.

Update: Störung behoben.

Important Notice: H.264

From now on, all movies presented on bleed will be encoded in H.264 because of better quality at same bitrates compared to conventional MPEG-4. Additionally, the horizontal resolution will be increased to 640px. If you’re still using Quicktime 6, you have to upgrade to Version 7.

Simultan02 - International video/sound experimental festival
will take place between 18-20 th of May 2006, Timisoara , Romania .
The event is open to all artists (groups) who work with video image and not only. Those interested may apply, without any thematic restrictions, with a maximum number of 3 works (movies, animations, vj loop) each having a length that must not exceed 100 seconds.

Streaming Festival

the world’s first film festival solely shown on the Internet. At this festival, that will take place from May 12th till May 14th , films do not play in theatres but can be viewed on five different websites. Just like at a regular film festival, visitors of the Streaming Festival will be able to choose from different programmes and switch between viewing locations.
